Steve Jobs’ first presentation

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

On January 24th, 1984, roughly 25 years ago, Steve Jobs gave the first on-stage demonstration of the Macintosh computer to a packed auditorium of screaming people that you could easily mistake for a rock concert — crazy to think about what Macs look like today and even crazier to think of what they may look like 25 years from now.

And while we’re at it, here’s the presentation of the original iPod in 2001 – that thing looks so antiquated now – Our favorite line from the presentation: “Why Music? Well, we love music, and it’s always good to do something you love.”

I Do What I Want!

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

we came across this tee on the web and it was love at first sight. People should not only buy this tee, they should live it. It’s not easy to “do what you want” – it takes courage, stamina, and an ability to take risk and go down the unbeaten path. Mad props to Oddity Clothing for this design idea – shirt is available at oddityclothing.com

On Entrepreneurship . . .

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

While you either may have been laid off or have realized that stability and security do not reside in the throes of the “mightiest” corporations in the world, the thought of entrepreneurship has entered back into the fray of millions of Americans and people around the world, who are thinking that security comes from relying on yourself. They wonder if now is the time to embark on their mission to be independent. We here at Concrete Jungle cannot make that decision for you, but we commend you. We have dedicated this shirt to you and your future endeavors. We also dedicate the shirt to those who already are on their entrepreneurial journey and who are sailing against the current: small and medium-sized business owners, who are being passed up for bailouts in favor of the same “mightiest” corporations that have laid off so many people. It will be the small- and medium- sized businesses, the true engine of this economy, that will pull us out of this hole. As they say in Bud (no longer an American-owned company) commercials, “this one’s for you”:

We know that Entrepreneurship is on the minds of many and you see it reflected in the media too. 50 Cent’s show, “The Money & The Power” on MTV is all about business and survival of the fittest in the business world – the show is not too shabby either, check it out sometime:
